Project Overview:
This music video was created as promotional material for Hera Björk’s one-woman stage show, a production I co-wrote with her exploring the realities of life as a working performer. The song reflects the contrast between the public glamour of show business and the unseen chaos of everyday responsibilities; from parenting to side jobs to constant travel. With almost no production time and a tight turnaround, the concept became a playful, frenetic one-shot performance capturing Hera’s humour, energy, and irreverent persona.
Recognition:
Used as a key promotional piece for Hera Björk’s live show, the video was well-received for its humour, immediacy, and the candid portrayal of the chaos behind a working performer’s polished public image.
My Contribution:
Co-wrote the stage show from which the song originated, contributing to lyrical development and thematic direction.
Created the concept for a single-take, high-energy video designed to embody the frantic pace of Hera’s real life.
Directed the shoot, organising props and guiding Hera’s glam team to function as on-camera prop assistants to maintain the comedic rhythm.
Managed a micro-budget production under extreme time constraints, completing principal photography in about an hour.
Shot the performance to a slowed playback track, later accelerating footage in post to achieve a chaotic, humorous intensity.
Edited and delivered the final video on a fast turnaround for show promotion.
Creative / Technical Notes:
One-shot concept chosen to maximise impact while staying within severe time and budget constraints.
Performance shot to a slowed track, then sped up in post to create a heightened, frantic momentum.
Improvised prop interactions designed to mimic real-life multitasking and the absurdity of balancing artistic and domestic responsibilities.
Lighting and staging tailored to support continuous movement and comedic pacing.
Ultra-fast turnaround from concept to finished deliverable to meet the marketing team’s schedule.
