Project Overview:
FAB Insurance commissioned a series of short explainer videos designed to answer the questions most frequently asked by expats dealing with insurance, paperwork, and immigration in France. Although the client initially approached me only to present the series, I developed the full concept, including writing, directing, filming, and editing. The goal was to make dry administrative topics more accessible through humour and a personable YouTube-style delivery. The videos were created as free resources to support FAB Insurance’s clients and attract new audiences through practical, engaging content.

Recognition:

The series became one of FAB Insurance’s most successful audience-building initiatives, offering high-value content that increased engagement with both existing clients and potential leads. Its success encouraged the company’s founder to develop a TikTok interview series with expats, expanding their digital presence and strengthening their community identity.

My Contribution:

  • Wrote all scripts, ensuring clarity while integrating humour and personality.

  • Presented each video, adopting a friendly, approachable tone suited to online advice formats.

  • Directed and filmed the series using a one-camera setup, designing shots to mimic familiar YouTube explainer aesthetics.

  • Created faux multi-camera angles in the edit by digitally punching in and reframing shots.

  • Integrated FAB Insurance branding into graphics, title cards, and overall visual identity.

  • Delivered multiple outputs per video, including YouTube- and Vimeo-optimised exports.

  • Adapted each script into a written feature article so the company could publish both text and video simultaneously, increasing SEO value and content diversity.

Creative / Technical Notes:

  • One-camera setup designed to emulate multi-camera YouTube advice channels through post-production reframing.
